Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has announced that it will be issuing a commemorative silver coin with effect from Wednesday 22/01/2020, on the occasion of Selecting Sharjah City as the World Book Capital 2019.
The commemorative coin shall be available for sale at Central Bank’s main office and branches. The silver coin weighing 28 grams shall be sold at the price of AED (300).
The Central Bank is proud that Sharjah has been named World Book Capital City for the year 2019 as recognition of the city’s continuous efforts in promoting books and literacy. The nomination was due to the city’s innovative, comprehensive and inclusive proposal to the World Book Capital initiative.
