A complete First Folio of Shakespeare’s plays is to be auctioned for the first time in nearly 20 years, with an estimated value of $4m to $6m.
One of the most important books in literary history, the first collected edition of Shakespeare’s plays, formally titled
Mr William Shakespeare’s Comedies, Histories & Tragedies, brings together 36 of the playwright’s dramas.
The book will be unveiled next week at Christie’s London showrooms before travelling to New York, Hong Kong and Beijing. It goes under the hammer in New York on April 24.
